Frequently Asked Questions
5) Don't all roads lead to God? |
||
| God’s Word (The Bible) is clear and is not difficult to understand. It states that all must repent and ask forgiveness for our sins, and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, died on a cross for us, and rose from the dead. We are to ask Him into our life and submit to Him as Lord and Savior. There is no other way to be saved according to the Scriptures (see John 3:36; 2 Thes.1:8-9; Acts 4:12; Rom.10:9-10; Rom.6:23). There are many religions, but only one that proclaims a loving God who died for you and I. It is also the only belief that states there is nothing we can do to enter Heaven. It is what He has done for us, not what we must do. Rom. 3:12 says, “There is none that does good, no not one.” Rom. 3:20 says, “Therefore, by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in His sight.” We’re not “good enough” to get to Heaven by our own effort. In Luke 13:3, Jesus said, "Repent, or you shall all likewise perish. Repent means “to turn from your sin (this includes our arrogance to think we know more than what God says) and to turn to God – to literally change our mind. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes unto the Father except by me.” Jesus claims to be God and to be the ONLY way – not one of the many ways. God is trying to keep people out of hell. He made it for the devil and his angels, not for man. But our soul is eternal, and can only reside in one place or the other. It is up to each of us to choose (Deut 30:19). If we reject Him, we send ourself to hell. Salvation is a free gift and we cannot be "good enough" to earn it. (Eph 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; John 3:16). If you were to go to the most expensive home in the country, knock on their door, and say to them, “Hi, I’m moving in with you.” What do you think they would say? No. You would not expect them to allow you to just move in. You don’t know them and have no relationship with them. Yet, people go throughout their entire lives and want nothing to do with God, reject that Jesus is the Son of God, don’t go to church, don’t want to read the Bible or learn about Him, and yet…. When they die – they expect to move into His house. Who is the unreasonable one? You never made God your Father even though He tries throughout your lifetime to reach out to you. When you receive His Son, He then becomes your Father, and you may now move into His house. |
